Parenting is different for everyone and often challenging. Despite all a parent does — making their child feel heard, loved and cared for — it’s common for parents and children to become disconnected.
Several steps can restore harmony in the relationship, says Dr. Lauren Josephs, a social/behavioral scientist and Embrace Families board member.
Through her 20-plus years as a licensed psychotherapist, she has gained expertise in women and children’s mental health. A strong parent-child relationship, she says, can serve as “building-blocks” for a child’s development.
