Bio
Kelvin Coachman first joined the Embrace Families Solutions team in 2019 as the Housing Stability Case Management Supervisor. He is an established public service professional committed to sustainable change at all levels of society to enhance the well-being of self, individual, group, community, and global systems. Kelvin earned both his Masters of Social Work and Bachelors of Social Work from Barry University in Miami, FL and a dual degree Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management form the University of Central Florida.
As a public service professional with over 20 years of professional experience as an active-duty Navy Sailor and later as a director at Salvation Army Orlando, Kelvin has solidified his expertise in urban community outreach, homelessness and the continuum of care, community planning, budget development, increasing community-based program collaborations, and strategic planning for nonprofit organizations. He believes that program success is the net product of intentional collaboration, data driven decision making, program development, and strategic community management approaches. Kelvin now serves as the Pathways to Home Program Director where he is responsible for program leadership and development, quality improvement, and grant/funding compliance. He leads an amazing team of individuals who are committed to ending homelessness and preventing children from coming into the dependency system due to homelessness.
Kelvin has also dedicated time to developing the human services profession through his mentorship of BSW and MSW internship students and membership on nonprofit boards of directors. He resides in Mt. Dora with his wife, daughter and two cock-a-poo dogs.
