Lakisha Mills is a foster parent trainer for Embrace Families, where she thrives on being an advocate for children in the child welfare system of care. With over 10 years of experience in the field of child welfare and five years as a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainer, she brings a wealth of knowledge and practical insights to her work. She has a bachelor’s in social services and a master’s in leadership from Belhaven University. Lakisha is committed to training individuals, including parents, educators and community members, in recognizing the signs of mental health challenges in young people and firmly believes in empowering others with knowledge and skills to address these challenges.
