At Embrace Families, our topmost priority is the well-being of Central Florida children who have experienced, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect. This is accomplished, in great part, by bringing a sense of stability and normalcy to kids whose disrupted family lives often make them feel alone and “different” from their classmates and friends.
Normalcy can look as simple as a new pair of shoes for a child or teen returning to school. And healing can be seen in the positive impact on that child’s self-confidence as they stand out for their “soles”, not just what is on their feet.
Author Reta Sepetys says, “The shoes always tell the story.”
Will you help us write a different story for vulnerable local children as they return to school this fall? Your donation will shape lives — allowing children and teens in foster care to step back into the classroom with confidence.
We have many big (and little) shoes to fill… 1,000 pairs before classes start in August. Luckily, there are three easy ways to help!
|The cost of shoes range by age, brand, type and store. Each direct gift of $50 or more helps provide a new pair of shoes.||Contact Libby Allison, for more information about how your Summer gathering could become a party with a purpose!||Follow Embrace Families on Facebook and Instagram.
