Preparing for Hurricane Dorian
Stay Safe! As Central Florida prepares for possible hurricane activity, the safety of the children and families in our care, along with our team members and provider partners, is our foremost priority. Click here for a copy of our 2019 Disaster Preparedness Recovery Plan.
In preparation for the storm, we want to make sure that you are aware of the following:
- Review the Redcross’ Hurricane Safety Checklist here.
- In addition to water, batteries and propane, don’t forget to make sure that you have an adequate supply of prescription medications on hand. To help facilitate this, many insurers are allowing for early refills. Check with your local pharmacy to see if you qualify. The cost to purchase or repair a generator used during a disaster event may be reimbursable through FEMA.

In the event supplies are running short at your local store, a reminder that supplies can be ordered online through certain stores such as Amazon, Jet, Boxed, etc. Be sure to select expedited shipping when necessary for pre-storm arrival.
Most of all, we encourage you to take all precautions necessary to stay safe if and when Hurricane Dorian heads our way.
