Embrace Families’ CareerBuilder summer apprenticeship program is designed to introduce working age young adults in the foster care system to a variety of career options, and to open doors to help them achieve those goals.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, seven local employers gave our teens a life-changing experience this summer, including:  Anderson & AssociatesEdible Education ExperienceImages of GloryPet AllianceTitan Electric, and Weathermaster Building Products.

The experience pays dividends for all involved.  “So much came out of at first being a hesitant employer to embracing it and running with it,” says Veronica Anderson, CEO of Anderson & Associates PA.  “Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to show others that employing teens can make a difference in shaping their lives.”

The CareerBuilder program is managed by Embrace Families in partnership with Career Source Central Florida, who provide paid summer internships for our youth in targeted fields, particularly the skilled trade industries.  In addition, a dedicated career advocate, funded by Career Source, works year round to help with job placement for youth who have finished high school or have achieved their GED.
